Leah Gazan

A member of the Wood Mountain Lakota Nation, Leah Gazan has lived in Winnipeg for over 40 years. Leah has worked to end poverty and advance human rights through her academic career and her community leadership, including as the longtime chair of the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg. Leah is also known for her work with the #WeCare campaign to end violence against Indigenous women and girls. She is now running to be the next Member of Parliament for Winnipeg Centre under the NDP banner. She’s standing with the NDP to fight for universal pharmacare, action on climate change, and for affordable social housing.
